| Calvin Mast
Calvin Mast and his wife, Lori, live on their dairy in Denair. They have four
children: Rebekah, at Cal Poly; Stephen, at Modesto JC; Nathan and
Jason at Turlock Christian High. Cal grew up on a dairy farm in
Michigan and moved to California in 1979 after attending Michigan
State University. He began working for his future father-in-law,
Chuck Dirkse, at that time and became a partner in the business
in 1994. Cal is milking 900 Holsteins and farming 200 acres. The
business also includes 300 acres of almonds, which are managed by
Chuck Dirkse. Cal is a Turlock Christian School Board member, a
4-H Dairy leader, member of the Environmental Issues Committee for
Western United Dairymen, a member on the livestock committee for
the Stanislaus County Fair, member of the Turlock Evangelical Free
Church, and a Stanislaus County Holstein Breeders Board member.
He is a past director and president of Stanislaus County DHIA. |
